The Foundation and Early Growth
Ma Foi was founded in 1992 with a vision to transform the HR landscape in India by providing innovative and effective talent management solutions. Driven by the objective of creating impactful employment opportunities and enhancing organizational efficiency, Ma Foi rapidly grew within a short span of time.
By 1996, just four years after its inception, the company had expanded to multiple locations across India, establishing a robust presence in the country. This early expansion was a testament to Ma Foi’s commitment to excellence and its ability to address the dynamic needs of the evolving job market. It set the stage for the company’s future success, positioning Ma Foi as a pioneer and leader in the Indian HR sector, with a reputation for delivering strategic solutions that drive both business and individual growth.
This foundational period laid the groundwork for Ma Foi’s continued innovation and influence in the industry.
The new millennium marked a period of significant growth and transformation for Ma Foi. In 2001, the company ventured into international markets, expanding its influence beyond India. This bold move set the stage for Ma Foi’s global ambitions.
A pivotal moment came in 2004 when Ma Foi joined forces with Vedior, enhancing its global presence and capabilities. That same year, the company underscored its commitment to education and skill development by establishing Ma Foi Academy, a testament to its dedication to nurturing talent.
Diversification became a strategic focus, exemplified by the launch of Minvesta Infotech in 2006, marking Ma Foi’s entry into the IT sector. The company’s growth reached a new peak in 2008 through a landmark global merger with the world’s second-largest HR firm. This merger not only strengthened Ma Foi’s international standing but also solidified its position as a leading player in the global HR landscape.
Diversification, Integration, and Recognition
The second decade of the 2000s began with Ma Foi’s expansion into strategic consulting, analytics, research, e-learning, and education in 2011. This diversification strategy proved fruitful, leading to Ma Foi becoming part of the CIEL group in 2015, a move that would shape its future direction.
2016 marked the launch of IBridge, a first-of-its-kind initiative in India, along with the establishment of offices in 24 locations across India and Dubai. The following years saw impressive growth in terms of workforce, client base, and placements. By 2018, the company boasted over 300 employees, 45+ branches, 1300+ clients, and an impressive 15,000+ placements and 7,000+ deputies.
The company’s commitment to quality was recognized in 2019 with the ISO 9001:2015 certification. The decade closed on a high note with Ma Foi being recognized as a Great Place to Work in 2020, a testament to its focus on employee satisfaction and organizational culture.
Despite global challenges, Ma Foi’s growth remained strong. In 2021, the company surpassed a major milestone with revenue exceeding INR 306 Crore and was ranked as the No. 1 staffing firm in India in terms of geographical spread by Staffing Industry Analysts (SIA). The CIEL Group, which includes Ma Foi, pursued strategic acquisitions to enhance its capabilities. In 2022, the acquisition of Jombay strengthened its talent assessment and development offerings. That year, Ma Foi was also recognized as a Great Place to Work for the third consecutive time, now operating from 74 offices across 50 locations.
The expansion continued in 2023 with the acquisition of Aargee Staffing, broadening its staffing solutions. In 2024, the group made a significant move by acquiring Courseplay, boosting its presence in the e-learning sector. Ma Foi was recognized as a Great Place to Work for the fifth consecutive year, with operations expanding to 90 offices across 44 locations.
